Maybe it happened to you when you went abroad, or when you have changed operators, you can not connect to the web or can not send pictures. If that is the case, this is probably due to the APN configured on your Xolo ZX. So we made the decision to write this content to resolve this trouble. We will first see what a APN is. We will see in a second time how to configure an APN on your Xolo ZX. Finally, we will see in what situations you should change the APN on the Xolo ZX.

What is an APN

The APN means Access Point Name. The APN therefore represents a set of connection data. This connection data allows your Xolo ZX to connect to the web and receive MMS. An improperly configured APN can thus prevent your Xolo ZX from receiving MMS or connecting to the internet. You need to know that each operator has a different APN of their own.

How you can set up an APN on your Xolo ZX

If you wish to configure an APN on your Xolo ZX, you must go to the Settings menu. When you are there, go to Network and Internet and Mobile Network . You will need to go to Advanced Settings and then Access Point Names . When you are there, you should click on the three dots at the top right of the screen and choose New APN . You will then access a form that you must fill in with the data of your operator. For example, if you are at Vodafone , you must find the Vodafone APN data on the net and copy it into the form. Almost always, the APN of each operator are very easily findable. You must repeat twice the process on your Xolo ZX. Indeed, you will need an APN for internet and an APN for MMS.

In which case should you configure an APN on your Xolo ZX?

In general, you will not automatically need to set up an APN on your Xolo ZX as this is usually done automatically. Nevertheless, there are a few situations that require the setup of an APN on your Xolo ZX. This is for example the case if you bought your used Xolo ZX and that the person who sold it to you was with a different operator than yours. This can also be the case if you’re traveling abroad and therefore change your SIM card.
